Pricing Pulse

Cassian Sentinel™ watches every product price in your catalogue and alerts you when a price goes to $0, a sale inverts, or prices change unexpectedly.

A broken price costs money in both directions — a $0 product sells for nothing, and an accidental 10× price stops sales cold. Pricing Pulse, part of Cassian Sentinel™, tracks the price of every variant in your catalogue and opens an incident the moment something changes that shouldn't have.

What Pricing Pulse Detects

ChangeSeverity
Price dropped to $0 (or negative)Critical
Inverted sale — the "compare at" price is lower than the selling price, so the sale badge shows a markupCritical
Price change over 50% (or more than $50)High
Price change of 10–50%Medium
Price change under 10%Low

Thresholds above are the Normal sensitivity defaults — see Sensitivity below.

Bulk change grouping

When 20 or more products change price the same way at once — typically a bulk edit, a currency issue, or an app misbehaving — Pricing Pulse groups them into a single bulk-change incident instead of sending 20 separate alerts. One notification, full product list inside.

Availability

Pricing Pulse is available on all plans, including Inspector. It requires a connected platform — Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or Wix — because prices are read from your platform's API, not scraped from pages.

PlanDepth
InspectorCritical alerts only ($0 prices, inverted sales). Checks run with your scans.
AnalystAll severities. Checks run with your scans.
Protector and aboveAll severities, plus scheduled daily checks and bulk-change grouping.

Up to 5,000 variants are tracked per site on every plan.

How It Works

When Pricing Pulse is enabled, Cassian™ captures a baseline of your full price catalogue.

On each check, current prices are compared against the baseline, and any change is classified by type and severity.

Changes that cross your severity thresholds open incidents on the Alerts page and notify you through your configured channels.

The baseline updates to the new prices, so intentional changes are absorbed — you're alerted once, not repeatedly.

On Protector and above, scheduled checks run daily. At least 12 hours pass between checks for the same site, so you won't get duplicate alerts for the same change from overlapping runs.

Sensitivity

Pricing Pulse respects your per-site sensitivity preset (Settings → Alert controls):

PresetHigh thresholdMedium thresholdBulk group at
Relaxed>60%≥20%40+ products
Normal>50%≥10%20+ products
Sensitive>30%≥5%10+ products

$0 prices and inverted sales are always critical on every preset. See Alerts & Incidents for how presets, quiet hours, and severity floors work together.

On WooCommerce and BigCommerce, Pricing Pulse also powers the Stock Monitor — inventory is checked in the same daily run, with no separate setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

I changed my prices on purpose — will Cassian alert me anyway? Yes, once. Pricing Pulse can't distinguish intentional changes from accidents, so it reports the change and moves the baseline forward. If it was intentional, acknowledge the incident and you won't hear about it again.

Does Pricing Pulse work without a platform connection? No. Prices come from your platform's API. Connect Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or Wix first.

My catalogue has more than 5,000 variants — what happens? Pricing Pulse tracks the first 5,000 variants. Contact us if you need broader coverage.

How fast will I know about a $0 price? On Protector and above, within a day via the scheduled check — sooner if a scan runs first. On Inspector and Analyst, checks run with your scan schedule.

Does a sale I set up correctly trigger an alert? A genuine sale (compare-at above the selling price) is reported as a price decrease at whatever severity the size of the drop warrants. Only an inverted sale — where the badge would show a markup — is critical.
