This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the permitted and prohibited uses of the Cassian™ platform. It applies to all users, including account holders and any individuals they authorise to access the platform. This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
Cassian is designed for monitoring and improving Shopify stores. Permitted use includes:
The following activities are strictly prohibited. Engaging in any of these may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
3.1 Unauthorised monitoring. Using Cassian to monitor, scan, or analyse Shopify stores that you do not own and do not have explicit written authorisation to manage. This includes using the platform for competitive intelligence or surveillance of third-party stores.
3.2 Reverse engineering. Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise extract the source code, scoring algorithm, or any proprietary methodology underlying the Cassian platform or the Cassian Score.
3.3 Unauthorised reselling. Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing access to the Cassian platform without a written agency or reseller agreement. If you are an agency and wish to offer Cassian to your clients, contact us about our Enterprise plan.
3.4 Automated abuse. Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to scrape, crawl, or interact with Cassian's interface or API beyond the documented rate limits. This includes screen scraping, data mining, and bulk data extraction.
3.5 Malicious content. Uploading, transmitting, or introducing malware, viruses, trojans, worms, or any other malicious code or content to the platform.
3.6 Security circumvention. Attempting to bypass, disable, or circumvent any security controls, authentication mechanisms, or access restrictions within the platform. This includes accessing other users' accounts, data, or resources without authorisation.
3.7 Competitive intelligence. Using the platform, its features, reports, or data to develop a competing product or service, or to benchmark Cassian for the purpose of building a competitive offering.
3.8 Illegal activity. Using Cassian in connection with any activity that violates applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights, including intellectual property infringement, fraud, or data protection violations.
3.9 Abuse of support. Making excessive, frivolous, or abusive support requests, or threatening or harassing Cassian staff.
Cassian enforces rate limits on all platform interactions to ensure fair usage and stability for all customers. Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary throttling. Persistent or deliberate abuse may result in account suspension.
If you become aware of any activity that violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to abuse@getcassian.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
Violations of this AUP may result in one or more of the following actions, at Cassian's sole discretion:
Where a violation involves illegal activity, we may also report the matter to the appropriate authorities.
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice via email or a prominent notice within the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
